Well one of my resolutions for this year was to do something never done before each month of the year.
January was kind of a blow out and I could make up all sorts of things but really the working on site through the entire month put a spanner in the works.
So today.... Something I have never done before. My resolution fulfilment for February.
. ..
I donated blood.
.. .
An interesting experience though one which took much longer than I expected. Not sure if I feel better about the act or actually managing to meet the resolution for this month ha ha.
Full update to follow.

An 86 year old man went to his doctor for his quarterly check up…
When asked how he was feeling, the 86-year-old replied,
"Things are just great and I've never felt better.'
I now have a 20 year-old bride who is pregnant with my child.
"So what do you think about that Doc?"
The Doctor considered his question for a minute and then began to tell a story.
"I have an elderly friend, much like you, who is an avid hunter and never misses a season."
One day he was setting off to go hunting.
In a bit of a hurry , he accidentally picked up his walking cane instead of his gun."
"As he neared a lake , he came across a very large male beaver sitting at the water's edge.
He realized he'd left his gun at home and so he couldn't shoot the magnificent creature.
Out of habit he raised his cane, aimed it at the animal as if it were his favorite hunting rifle and went 'Bang Bang'."
"Incredibly, two shots rang out and the beaver fell over dead.
Now, what do you think of that?" asked the Doctor.
The 86-year-old thought for a minute and said,
"Logic would strongly suggest that somebody else pumped a couple of rounds into that beaver."
The Doctor replied, "My point exactly."

Happy New Year!!!
2008 lands.
Whether you had a good or a bad 2007 I hope 2008 is a better one!!
My Resolutions for 2008:
1. Do whatever it takes to get back in touch with all the people that have gifted me with their friendship over the years and that I have let drift away this last year in particular.
2. To get closer to my family again.
3. This one is "borrowed" from Jane but a very good one. I resolve to visit two countries that I have not visited before.
4. To lose the weight I have gained with stopping smoking (and hopefully more)
5. Every month of 2008 I resolve to do something that I did not do at all in 2007.... hmm a challenge. Any realistic suggestions or ideas welcome.
Take care everyone and may 2008 be a great year for everyone!

Well that is tonight well and truly sorted.
Just got the new Harry Potter film this lunchtime so can watch that with dinner, however I was actually stuck for choice ...
HD-DVD - £23 Blu-ray - £23 DVD - £14
Hmm well my logic was that I really did want the HD version so the DVD was out, and HD-DVD Transformers blew me away quality wise and so went for the HD-DVD version.
Then, once that has been watched I can turn my hand(s) to Endless Ocean which has turned up today (delayed from Friday pah!!) for the Wii. Rather looking forward to trying this out as very much like the premise.
With everything I have heard about the HP film (Val I'm looking at you :-p) really quite keen for the afternoon to fly by now.... tick faster damn it oh clock!!!

What a simply wonderful series (so far at least).
Only seen the first couple of episodes after picking up the DVD season one but you just have to love it. Just so charmingly heart warming and it really does hit all of the right elements needed to just leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling and a grin that threatens to hurt if it does not quit soon.
Really quite down at the moment so just really need something like this.

And I thought I had quit.
About six and a half weeks since my last cigarette and you would think that was pretty good grounds towards saying I managed to quit smoking this time.
Alas... not.
No it's not a case of smoking again really but more that I never actually stopped which is pretty crazy. Been reading the EASYWAY stop smoking book by Allen Carr and it is definately a good read but quite dispiriting in a way. Because I had used the lozenges for Nicotine replacement then I am basically no better off than I was six and a bit weeks ago. Smoking = nicotine addiction, I am still a drug addict for nicotine therefore I am still a smoker even if I do not light up a cigarette to accomplish it.
Bah!
So today I start again I guess and this time I'm addressing the addiction rather than the method of delivery.
Last cigarette smoked : 10/08/07 23:50 Last nicotine fix : 24/09/07 22:45
Got to love those withdrawl pangs *groans* "I am an ex-smoker, I am never going to smoke again" Yeah.... easy![/sarcasm] Nah... I suppose it is not that bad really and I have to look at the brighter side... the little pangs now are nothing on the results of not stopping.
Found it was not all that hard to stop lighting up but kicking this nicotine addiction stuff.... it kinda sucks :( Oh well just a few days or worst case a few weeks to go
